Random Thursday

Mr. Fearless crawls right through the tunnel of hay bales.

Little Miss, however, could not be convinced to check it out, even after her big brother did it.

Little Miss is writing letters and could this really be a coincidence or can she spell MOM? I was helping E with his homework and looked over to see this. I said, "Who wrote MOM?" and she responded with a proud, "I did!"

The other day she lined up each one of these bears perfectly; she stayed occupied for a good hour playing with them.

Picture of the Week

My little man feeling pretty good about himself! The quality of this photo isn't so great, but, in my opinion, the subject is perfect!

Happy Monday to all!

Sweating in the pumpkin patch

This is just a preview to one of this week's posts about our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. There was no brisk fall breeze or blowing leaves. Instead we had sweaty, red faces and ice cream for lunch. It was more than 80 degrees. It felt more like mid summer than the beginning of fall.

It's never easy...

I thought I could change my blog just a little, but nope...it's a lot of work. I can't just change the background without now changing the size of my pictures....there has got to be an easier way. The problem is, I just don't know what it is. So, for now, I'm done.

WaterFire

At the end of August, we finally made it to WaterFire. It was packed! We lucked out with a parking spot and were able to walk a short distance to see the sights. We rarely do things at night because it's just not worth keeping the kids out past bedtime, but they did really well.
Providence

The fleet of boats prior to the start of WaterFire.

The creepy clown throwing carnations to the people. Initially, Little Miss was disappointed with not getting a flower, but as soon as she took one look at the white face of the clown, she was done with that.

The photos are not nearly as great as the real thing.

Art by RISD students....definitely a fun attraction for kids.

And E wanted me to take his picture on the Helicopter landing pad.
It was a fun night!

Random Thursday (on my birthday)

So today I turn 29 for the 9th year in a row. Remember when you used to think 40 was old? Not so old anymore...

The purpose of doing Random Thursdays was so I didn't have to really think and organize what to post, but today I'm having some trouble being random. I think I'll just go through some of my old photos and the first ones I see, I'll post. So, just hold on a minute....................

......almost done.......

These were taken last January 1st. Poor Pepere is being ganged up on by 6 kids!

I have a feeling he is the one who started it.

It seemed to be a long way from snow today as the temperatures are still feeling like it's summertime. I think I'm finally ready for fall.
Hopefully we'll visit the pumpkin patch on Saturday.
We visited E's school tonight for open house and met his teacher.
She gave a good report....we are so proud of him!

Picture of the Week

It's always fun to use the self-timer on the camera and even more fun when you get lucky with a good picture every now and then. Little Miss is a little silly with her tongue sticking out, but that is what she does these days, so it's definitely a keeper!

*Why is it that the picture quality on this blog is not as clear as the actual picture before posting? I know Meg posted about this on her blog too. It is kind of frustrating.

Random Thursday (a date late)

Yes, again! I am a day late again.
Some wild turkeys made themselves comfortable in our backyard the other day. They were perfectly content until E decided to stalk them.

Little Miss fell and banged her nose on the table this past Saturday. Poor baby still has a bruise from the mishap.

Apparently since I let the kids run through the sprinklers fully clothed, Little Miss now cannot resist the urge to do it all the time. It doesn't matter if it's at the park and less than 70 degress outside.

Once again, Little Miss doing her favorite thing.

Looks like E needs some screen time on my next post; this one was full of the Little Miss. Happy Weekend!

I get so excited to collect all this fall goodness just by walking around my yard.

This year, I put a container of water inside the basket before putting all the flowers inside; I'm hoping this helps it to stay fresh for longer.

Especially because it's not officially fall for another 9 days.

But mother nature seems to be a little ahead of herself this year.

Sprinklers and double trouble.

This is what happens when Daddy has to fix the sprinklers in the middle of a September afternoon....Two, fully dressed kids get soaking wet and have a grand ole time!

Love this face!

...and this silly one too!

When the sprinklers got turned off, they looked for more.

....and then when the fun was over, both kids were freezing and this is the face of a little girl begging for me to pick her up.

She was easily distracted when I told her I would race her to the house.

She beat me there and made a mess inside the front door. But, it was completely worth the fun!
