Fairy Party Wrap-Up Post 3 of 3

Tired of all this fairy talk?  This is the last of the party pictures....I promise.

I created a scavenger hunt on www.scavengerhunt.org   You can find my actual scavenger hunt here.  It was easy to create, find pictures to go with it and then print out.  I rolled them up and tied them with twine.  The kids used these buckets to collect their goods and branch pencils like these to check off their lists.  I got the pencils at Marshall's.

For each item they found they were able to trade it in for a piece of candy.

The pinata was filled to the brim (with mostly fairy stuff)...sorry boys ;(  Unfortunately we didn't even make it through all the kids...this guy "killed" it.
Little Miss thoroughly enjoyed opening all her gifts this year.  She took her time; you only turn 6 once, so why not?

And here's the cupcake cake, easy peasy...one of the easiest I've my mother and I have made.  It was super quick.  You can see my our other cupcake cakes here.  Thanks again for your help mom!
The fairy cake toppers are from amazon.

It's so hard to believe it's been 6 years since our Little Miss entered our lives.  We have had such a blessed 6 years with her and it was a joy celebrating with our family and friends.

Forty...

So, this is what 40 looks like.  Actually, to be completely honest, it looks like this minus the hair.  We had a date night the other night and I decided to "wig out". (ha!)  It was nice to blend in, but man, the hair was not all that comfortable.

Here's me and my man.  A full stomach makes him very happy.
(My eyebrows are starting to come in...can you see them?)
On Saturday, we went to Mom and Dad's house and they grilled quite a meal for us.  Yummy!  Thanks Mom and Dad!
My brother taught us a new way to eat a cupcake.  I suggest you try it the next time you are given the opportunity.  It turns the ordinary into the extraordinary.  Really, it seems ridiculous, but, I dare you to do it, it's life changing.  Well, not really, but it will change the way you eat a cupcake.  It's more fun too!

My actual birthday started off with Little Miss and E singing Happy Birthday while Vic carried over the usual birthday breakfast...cinnamon buns with a candle.  At that moment, I knew it was going to be an emotional day.  I think all birthdays cause me to be reflective, but yesterday, even more so.   Vic thought I was upset that I was turning 40, but really, it was the opposite.
The only thing I could think of while my kids sang was how grateful I was that I made it to 40, and that they could sing to their Momma...thank you GOD!

When initially getting diagnosed with the Big C, your own mortality is at the forefront of any thoughts...

Commercials like these were stuck in my head each time someone wished me a happy birthday and I got emotional every time.

And outside of church, when Sister Cecile, who was celebrating 60 years of religious life, hugged me and told me she prayed for me everyday, I could barely compose myself. I'm one more of the birthdays being celebrated, and I'm quite certain, I won't take that for granted anytime in the near future.

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.

Pinkalicious Party Pictures

WARNING:  This post is packed with pink, pink and more pink.

I'm letting the pictures tell (most of) the story today.  Enjoy!

 Little Miss made the labels.

 This one is my favorite.

A pinkalicious cupcake cake made out of cupcakes.  To see all my cupcake cakes click on the word cupcakes under the labels section on the right sidebar.
A No-Sew Fabric Garland made with old fabric from Memere's house.
Little Miss helped to make this.  She punched out the circles, put the number stickers on and then adhered them to the banner all by herself.  I'm so happy to have another fan of craftiness in the house with me.
Bubbles.
Photo Booth Props...if you look closely, you can see that Ellie made it into the basket.
Found these hats for a bargain...$1.00 a piece...perfect craft for a Pinkalicious Party.

I'm kind of crazy about these paper banners...and that "fairy" photo of Little Miss.

Look at Little Miss closing her eyes ;)  You can see some of the hats in the photo too....they came out really cute!
Sitting in a sea of pink...

Fun is good.

Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.

PS Thanks Auntie Shann for taking some photos. ;)
