Surprise!

Sunday we had a surprise 70th birthday party for my father-in-law. Everything was great and Pai was sooooo happy!
The Portuguese food was really good and we had a lot of it! We were able to enjoy the leftovers for a couple days too!
Little Miss was not feeling well, so she was not her usual life of the party. Wishing you many more years of health and happiness Pai!

"Foodie Cups"

AKA Hoodsie Cups to most people. I'm thinking that ice cream is definitely one of Little Miss' favorites if not THE favorite! She gets so darn excited about eating a Hoodsie cup and dances all the way to her chair.

"Mom, can I please have a Foodie Cup?"
"Ok, go ahead"
(giggles in delight)"I'll get a spoon!" She can't get it fast enough.

We should all get excited about the little things in every day life.

In the blink of an eye

Once upon a time, all I wanted was to be a mom and it seemed to take me so long to get there. Now as the kids' birthdays approach I think how fast the first 6 years of motherhood have flown by. I am trying my best not to get sad about how grown up the kids are getting and focus on how every new stage has something fun to look forward to, but it's hard not to get a little sad looking at these pictures.

These are the photos we used on Little Miss' and E's birth announcements.

So far being a mother has been a combination of GOOD, bad, and sometimes ugly, but, I would never change places with anyone. Being a mom to my two kids is the greatest job on Earth! ...and I'm trying not to Blink!

PS Something funky is going on with my postings...sorry if things are looking a little off centered...have to figure that out...it's bugging me!

A girl and her tutu

Although Little Miss did not appear to be overly excited about receiving a couple of tutus (is that the correct spelling? it looks kind of funny)for Christmas, things have changed! She is now a "ballerina" (to put it in her own words).

One Man's Trash...

...was my treasure. You won't be seeing me drinking any of the expensive liquor that came in this box, but I can definitely try to make good use of the trash (I mean packaging).

A little paint, paper, ribbon, mod podge and flowers and "ta da", a new caddy for some of my craft supplies. It's a perfect inexpensive addition to my space. Thanks George! (Victor's boss who received this gift for Christmas)

I also left the Christmas party with some great cigar boxes...can't wait to transform those too. Who knew there would be such treasures!

Fluffy White Stuff

More snow means more outdoor fun, for at least some of us that is. Mr. E and I ventured outdoors for some sledding and snow angels. Little Miss is not all that fond of snow (I think I did mention this before). Her dislike, however, has turned into complete fear. She REFUSES to even step in a flake of the fluffy white stuff. I wonder how long it will take her to get over this. Hopefully not too long, considering she is a New England girl. Daddy doesn't mind keeping her company; he is not a big fan either!

Here is Mr. E's first official snow angel; he was quite proud that his came out better than mommy's. I do agree!

The hill in our backyard is the perfect size for sledding down AND climbing back up.

A little screaming adds to the excitement!
