Baby Gift-a quick one!

A month ago, I saw this post on Ashley's blog.

I was excited to make some, but didn't have anyone to make them for; now I do.

This project was super quick and easy. It took me 20 minutes from start to finish and I did it while I was on the telephone....is that rude? Sorry.

Bald

A few weeks back I did this post.

Our bald heads now have hair. Although we think "Bald is Beautiful", we're kind of excited to see the green heads of hair on all the pots.

...and speaking of bald...my cousin's baby...just because she's so darn cute!

..and just because it has the word bald in it,

Thanks

I think I was born wanting to be a mother and now I get to live in the reality of motherhood each and every minute of the day. Sunday will be my 8th Mother's Day, yet I can still remember what it was like to ache for a baby that would call me Mommy. Two selfless young couples healed the hurt when they trusted me to be the Mommy to their babies and I am blessed and grateful to have the best job in the world! To all birthmothers...thank you for choosing adoption and Happy Mother's Day!

I had a link to a video of "Everything to Me" by Mark Schultz on yesterday's post. It wasn't the best quality, so here's a better one.

For birthfamily gifts this year, we kept it simple. Artwork and pictures always seem like a good idea.

Here are Little Miss' finished butterflies. She drew the butterfly, but I must admit, I did end up painting a couple of them...she got bored. (Excuse the poor photos in this post...very bad light and wrong settings will make for wonky photos.)

Here are E's mini canvases.

They also decorated magnetic frames...they're in my last post
here.

Phew!

We've been busy around here. It's always such a crazy time of year with one event after another; it's sometimes hard to enjoy it, but we're working on it.

The kids have been creating Mother's Day gifts. We're mailing out birthfamily gifts tomorrow. Saturday is Birthmother's Day. Read more about my feelings on that here.

I'll be uploading the pictures of the finished butterflies soon. They're really cute!

Speaking of butterflies, our caterpillars have arrived and they are starting to form their crysalis'. Sooooo cool!

More Mother's Day stuff!

Ice Cream

It was 70 degrees today! Time for ice cream, not that you can't eat ice cream any other time, but it's more fun when it's warm outside. I hope this weather is here to stay because it is fabulous!

Copycat Easter

I love the Springtime, and with Easter, there is no better way to celebrate its arrival!

This post is pretty much filled entirely with projects that were inspired by other blogs. I believe I saw this Peeps in the Grass on Heather's Life Made Lovely Monday post a couple of weeks ago, but I can't find it right now. We planted grass seed and watched as the peeps slowly began to hide in the grass; it was a fun project for the kids. As the weather became warmer, the peeps attracted some ants...not so fun.

After seeing, Julie's "Ode to Spray Paint" Post ,
I took a trip to Home Depot.

I loved the yellow of Julie's jars, but for some reason, the yellow wasn't sticking to my jars. I ended up using stickers to spell out the word love and then spray painted green over the yellow. Now, just a glimpse of the yellow shows through. I'm not giving up on the yellow...I'm going to see if using a different kind of spray paint will work. I would definitely recommend the glossy spray paint if you wanted to do this project. I wasn't sure what I would like better, so I tried both. I'm a fan of the glossy.

And, the chicks, also from Heather's blog...found here. This was my favorite...E's rockin chick! (There are some more of our chicks in the previous photos.)

Thank you Blogland (is that one word or two?) for all the inspiration!

I hope you all had a Blessed Easter!

By the way, is anyone else having trouble with their "followers" list on their blog? Mine hasn't shown up for a week. I'm wondering if it's something internal or with blogger.

April Vacation

E has been hit by the bug...the cleaning bug! I don't know what got into him the other day, but he took it upon himself to clean his room, complete with sweeping and vacuuming. He even vacuumed under the bed (literally). We bought a "truckload" of pansies at Walmart the other day...$1.78 for a 6 pack...you can't beat that price (well, unless you grow your own I suppose). Did you know pansies can be in temperatures as low as 20 degrees? They are the first flowers I buy at the start of Spring when I get the gardening bug.
We dyed Easter Eggs. I think this year's are the best yet. The kids were really patient about letting the eggs sit in the water so the colors could get really bright.
