We recently celebrated Mom's 60th birthday.

I helped Little Miss and E make handmade vases for their Memere. I used empty frosting containers, measured a piece of plain white paper for the kids to decorate and attached them to the container. I also laminated the artwork so if it got wet, it wouldn't run. The kids went outside armed with scissors and made their own arrangements for Memere.

A Crowded Nest

Our birds are now feathered friends. It's really unbelievable how quickly the birds grow and change. There is something to be said for a diet of worms.

16 days left...

...until the end of my school year and I really can't wait!!! The weather has been so beautiful and it's getting harder and harder to get back into the swing of things after the weekends. I'm looking forward to spending more time with my "babies".

Soon, we'll be making our summer list like this one that Meg did with her kids. I can't wait; E already has some things to put on it.

More Birds

Sorry if you're not all that into the birds. I am a little into it; I think it's pretty much the coolest thing ever! Well, maybe not ever, but cool enough to make the blog several times. Enjoy.

The Storyteller

E is definitely a Storyteller...some true, some, not so much. But...whatever kind of story he is telling, he is always animated. Wish I could remember what he was telling me in these pictures.

PS If you saw this post, you'll be happy to know the eggs have hatched. Pictures coming soon to a blog near you.

Good, ole fashioned fun...

The kids and I went to my nephew's birthday party over the weekend. It was at Ward's Berry Farm; it's a quaint little farm. We went on a hay ride, visited the farm animals and played on the playground. My favorite is the terribly noisy horse swings...there is something nostalgic about the ear piercing squeaks they make as the kids swing on them.
This was seconds before E banged his chin and got off the swing with a bit of discomfort, seconds after Mommy warned him he was going to get hurt. Once again proving our motto with E, "If it can happen, it will..." Lucky for all of us, he is very resilient.

Little Miss even learned how to pump the swing herself.
