I tried, but it's been nearly impossible to keep my goal of posting this past week. School has started and things have been a bit hectic while we all try to adjust to our new fall routine. E started first grade; I think Mommy is having a harder time than him. It just doesn't seem natural to leave your 6 year old for 6+ hours with strangers and not have any idea what is going on.
We've decided not to enroll Little Miss in preschool this year. She does several outside activities: swim class, dance, library story hour, etc. Socially she is very outgoing and confident. Because I'll be job sharing this year, I will be able to spend a lot of one on one time with her and I'm really looking forward to it. It's funny though because it is generally assumed that now when kids turn 3 they are off to preschool. Most people look at me funny when I say she is not going. E was very attached to me when he was three so we really thought it was important for him to go at least a couple times a week for a short period of time. It's what worked best for him.
Both our children are so different; it's what makes our lives so full!
Have a great year E, we are so proud of you and love you very much!
