First Summer Visit to the Park

We visited the local zoo today. I especially like reading the signs throughout the zoo. It doesn't take much to amuse me.

"Mom, oh my goodness, why is that monkey sitting like that so we can see his privates?" said E

"Well E, that's kind of what monkeys do." I respond

Another sign...E could actually read this one by himself...he didn't find it as amusing as I did.

My two little meerkats.

One final stop at the Splashpad and we completed our trip to the zoo. I have learned that it's best to visit in the late afternoon and avoid the early crowds.

Because I took these pictures with my point and shoot camera, it seems I'm not able to make them as large...hmmmm?

"Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood."

~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
